Sid Vale Folk

Sid Vale Folk are a mixed choir of about forty souls which was founded by Sue King in September 2008.

Our songs are a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs, loosely described as “folk”. We try to reflect different themes and times of the year in our performances. The choir are constantly adding to the repertoire and often revisit old friends. Members print their own copies from the website or down-load onto their own hand-held electronic devices.

We meet on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 9pm throughout the year (we usually have a short break during school holidays). The venue is the dance studio in Dissenter of Sidmouth (on the corner opposite Tesco). Members pay £2 for each session they attend.

New members are welcome. There is no audition to join although recruits are expected to be able to hold a basic tune. We generally sing unaccompanied.

The choir support one or two local charities each year and other good causes as the need arises.
